Dr Pasquale Fedele is a clinical and laboratory haematologist at Monash Health and is a fellow of both the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) and Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA).

Dr Fedele completed his undergraduate training in medicine at Monash University. He then completed haematology training at Monash Health and The Alfred Hospital before undertaking a PhD at the Walter & Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research in the role of transcription factors in multiple myeloma.

He is passionate about improving care for patients with haematological diseases, is actively involved in translational and clinical research and has numerous publications in international peer review journals.

Dr Fedele consults out of St John of God Berwick. He has an interest in both malignant and non-malignant haematology and is happy to take referrals across the full scope of blood disorders.

Dr Gareth Gregory is a Consultant Haematologist at Monash Health and Medical Director at Cell Care. He was awarded fellowships of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia after completing Haematology training at Monash Health, the Alfred Hospital and the Australian Red Cross Blood Service.

Dr Gregory is passionate about improving outcomes for patients with blood disorders through translational research and has many publications in high impact medical journals for both his clinical and preclinical contributions. He was awarded the prestigious Albert Baikie Memorial Medal by the Haematology Society of Australia and New Zealand for his PhD studies investigating novel therapies for the treatment of lymphoma at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and the University of Melbourne. Dr Gregory is an alumnus of the European Hematology Association Clinical Research Training in Hematology program and is actively involved in translational and clinical research within the Monash Health Translation Precinct including as principal investigator for numerous lymphoma clinical trials.

Dr Gregory consults primarily out of his main rooms at Monash Specialist Centre at Clayton and consults at St John of God Hospital Berwick every fortnight. He will see patients with any haematological condition including haematological malignancies, iron deficiency and thrombosis.

Associate Professor Michael Low is a Haematologist at the Monash Medical Centre, as well as a number of private hospitals including St John of God Berwick where he serves on the medical advisory committee. He undertook his undergraduate training at the University of Melbourne for which he was awarded an MBBS/BMedSci. Dr Low then undertook his specialty training through the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Alfred Hospital and Monash Medical Centre. He is a fellow of both the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) as well as the Royal College of Pathologists Australasia (RCPA).

Assoc. Prof Low undertook his PhD studies jointly at Monash University as well as the Walter and Eliza Hall Research Institute for which he was awarded the prestigious Gus Nossal Award by the National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia for his studies into survival pathways in myeloma. Dr Low continues to be the principal investigator on a number of clinical trials in myeloma being undertaken at Monash Medical Centre.

Assoc. Prof Low’s clinical and research interests include haematological malignancies (eg lymphoma and myeloma) as well as treatment of iron deficiency. He has published in numerous international journals including Journal of Nutrition, Canadian Medical Association Journal, British Journal of Haematology and Cochrane Library of Systematic Reviews.

Assoc. Prof Low consults out of St John of God Hospital Berwick and will see patients with any haematological disorder including haematological malignancies, cytopenias, clots and iron deficiency.

Dr Shahla Vilcassim is a Haematologist at Monash Medical Centre, as well as at St John of God Berwick. She completed her undergraduate studies at University College Dublin, Ireland where she was awarded an MBBchBAO. She undertook her specialty training through Monash Medical Centre and the Alfred Hospital. She is a fellow of both the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) as well as the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA).

Dr Vilcassim is currently undertaking her PhD studies focusing on the Myelodysplastic Syndromes through Monash University and the Hudson Institute of Medical Research. She was awarded the Monash Health Clinical Academic Fellowship.

Dr Vilcassim’s clinical and research interests include haematological malignancies (e.g. myelodysplasia) as well as treatment of haemoglobinopathies.

Dr Vilcassim consults out of St John of God Berwick and will see patients with any haematological disorder including haematological malignancies, iron deficiency as well as thrombosis.
